Before debuting as a singer, he worked in farming, not related to music. Then, in 2006, he won the grand prize at the National Singing Contest held in his hometown of Gwangju, Gyeonggi Province, and participated in the finals at the end of the year.
He then debuted in 2009 with the title song 'Just! Once'.
He appeared on King of Active Singer from November 28, 2023 to February 13, 2024. He placed 5th in the finals.
